The European Union’s new Internet site is dedicated to the ‘Euro– one currency for Europe’. If you are interested in the EU’s future currency, as perhaps a specialist working on the technical preparation of the changeover, or simply an Internet surfer, this site is designed to bring you up-to-date information in the eleven languages of the European Union.

The Asia Urbs Programme is a cultural programme supported by both the development and economic funds of the Commission. Its main activity is to fund two-year development projects, or six-month studies, which seek to improve living and environmental conditions for those living in urban areas. As one of its aims is to strengthen 'decentralised cooperation', these projects must be designed and implemented by local governments in Asia together with others in Europe.

The Asia-Link Programme is a new initiative by the European Commission to promote regional and multilateral networking between higher education institutions in EU Member States and South Asia, South-East Asia and China. The programme aims to promote the creation of new partnerships and new sustainable links between European and Asian higher education institutions, and to reinforce existing partnerships.

The Asia-Invest Programme aims to promote business co-operation between companies in the European Union and Asia. It provides a range of grants and support measures to help companies research new markets, to do business in unfamiliar cultural environments, to meet and evaluate potential partners and to identify investment opportunities.

This website provides an overview of the training, mobility and career development opportunities covered under the EU’s Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) for R&D. These opportunities are open to researchers of all ages and levels of experience regardless of nationality, and are one of the most visible means of developing and enhancing human resources in the European Research Area (ERA).

The Erasmus Mundus programme is a co-operation and mobility programme in the field of higher education which promotes the European Union as a centre of excellence in learning around the world. It supports European top-quality Masters Courses and enhances the visibility and attractiveness of European higher education in third countries. It also provides EU-funded scholarships for third country nationals participating in these Masters Courses, as well as scholarships for EU-nationals studying in third countries.

The Export Helpdesk is an online service, provided by the European Commission, to facilitate market access for developing countries to the European Union. This free and user-friendly service provides relevant information required by developing country exporters interested in supplying the EU market.
